In the language of photography, it is often difficult to capture fashion, architecture and object with a cohesive artistic vision. Emerging from the mess of stylized and heavy handed editorial is a clean and natural aesthetic indicative of a societal return to simplicity. Russian photographer Alisa Aiv captures the graphic lines and shapes found in concrete structures and commercial buildings, while balancing the softened texture and form of humanity. Former fashion designer Alina Asmus turned her training in clothing construction and tactile awareness into a photography style filled with sculptural storytelling and unusual angles. Authenticity may be the buzzword of the year, but there is no denying the purity and bareness of modest reality.
