Marla Belt joins the latest crop of creatives hand-painting faces into vibrant chiaroscuro masterpieces. Approaching makeup from an illustration background, the New York based artist spent 11 years at MAC cosmetics and 8 years assisting the renowned genius Pat McGrath. Drawn to the dramatic and bold, Marla’s technique challenges ideas of traditional beauty and application, experimenting with line and form in a kaleidoscope of saturated pigment. Her work has led to collaborations with many top photographers including Solve Sundsbo, Ben Hassett, Lachlan Bailey, Steven Pan, and Daniel Sannwald. Color has officially reached the next level.
